Catholic Worker Group
The Stillwater Catholic Worker Community is committed to a philosophy of life exemplified in the lives of Dorothy Day (1897-1980) and Peter Maurin (1877-1949), founders of the Catholic Worker movement. They are engaged in the practice of the Works of Mercy in our daily lives.
We have many activities designed to include the whole family. We learn about the Catholic Worker Movement, Catholic Social teaching, and build awareness for the plight of the poor around the world. We also include distributist activities such as gardening, hand crafts, and bee keeping.
• Carrying out the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy set forth in the gospel and emphasized by the Catholic Worker Movement.
• Adhering to and follow all guidelines set in place through the Church of St. Michael and the Archdiocese of St. Paul.
• Upholding and following the ideals of Dorothy Day, Peter Maurin and the Catholic Worker, most specifically respecting the dignity of the individual and the importance of community.
