Pastoral Outreach
Through pastoral care, we answer God’s call to serve all those in need with love and compassion. St. Mary’s pastoral care programs are facilitated by Ann Newlander, Coordinator of Pastoral Ministry and Volunteers along with Leann Kaufenberg, Pastoral Minister at St. Michael’s, and made possible by the dedication of many volunteers in our parish family. To learn more about pastoral outreach at the Church of St. Mary, please contact Ann.
Pastoral Care to the Bereaved
Please call us if you are in need of someone to talk to, someone to help you through this journey of grief. Our priests, deacons, pastoral ministers and trained BeFrienders are here and ready to help you. There are also many resources we can share with you: scripture readings, support groups, books on dying and grief. Please call Leann Kaufenberg, Director of Pastoral Ministry, at 379-1266 or Ann Newlander, Pastoral Minister, 439-1270.
Community Outreach Board
Located in the rampway leading from the church to the Atrium, the Community Outreach Board connects parishioners who wish to volunteer their time or resources to fellow parishioners in need. Postings are divided into four areas: requests for assistance, freebies, employment needed and employment opportunities. Directions for participating in this ministry are posted on the board itself.
Are you Hard of Hearing?
We have assistive hearing devices available in the Sacristy for use during Mass. Ask one of our Ushers and they will help you pick up a hearing device and earphone. Please return the device after Mass so that it can be recharged.
Sacramental Minstry
Clergy visit homebound parishioners on the first Friday of every month. St. Mary’s clergy partner with other Christian clergy to offer non-denominational services on Sunday afternoons at local elder care facilities. Catholic clergy also offer Mass once a month at each facility.
Remembering Those Who are Sick
At the First Friday 7:30 a.m. Mass, we remember in prayer those parishioners who are sick. If you know of someone who would like to be included in our Mass Intentions, please call Ann Newlander, 439-1270. We ask that, in accordance with privacy policies, you ensure that you have permission of the person to be named in the Mass Intentions.
